Head Start Policy Council

The Head Start Pre-K3 Policy Council is a parent and community lead advisory board that provides guidance to the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Head Start Pre-K3 programs regarding:

  • Parent involvement and activities
  • Head Start program recruitment, selection, and enrollment priorities.
  • Budget planning for program expenditures, including policies for reimbursement and participation in policy council activities.
  • Bylaws for the operation of the policy council.
  • Procedures for how members of the policy council of the Head Start agency will be elected.

The ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Head Start Policy Council is made up of parent representative(s) (parents/guardians of a child enrolled in ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Head Start) from each school that houses an ÁùºÏ±¦µä Head Start program as well 3-5 community members at any time. At this time, there are no vacant parent or community member positions on the ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Head Start Policy Council.
