Students who have stopped coming to school in the past year will have a chance to re-enroll this Saturday when ÁùºÏ±¦µä conducts its Operation Reconnect Action Day. Volunteers will conduct a block walk in the Dove Springs neighborhood to welcome students to ÁùºÏ±¦µä schools on Saturday, June 26.
Who: ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD teachers, staff, and community volunteers.
What: A door-to-door campaign to reconnect with families and share information about district program offerings.
When: Saturday, June 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Volunteers will meet at the Mendez Middle School field, 5106 Village Square Drive, at 9 a.m. for a brief orientation. Volunteers will then depart for the walk to designated neighborhoods.
The focus of the event is schools in the Dove Springs neighborhood:
- Elementary: Houston, Langford, Perez, Palm, Rodriguez, Uphaus, Widén
- Middle: Mendez
During the operation, volunteers will share information about the district’s world-class programs, including:
- Free prekindergarten.
- Fine arts.
- Robust enrichment programs, which are available before and after school.
- Free career preparation programs such as Pathways in Technology.
- Early College High Schools.
