ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Superintendent to Announce 2021 Teachers of the Year

On April 14, Superintendent Stephanie Elizalde will surprise four teachers in their classrooms to announce their selection to ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD 2021 Teachers of the Year.

The Teacher of the Year designation is one of the highest honors the district bestows upon ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD teachers.

The Texas Teacher of the Year program, which is facilitated by the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Education Agency, recognizes teachers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and excellence in teaching.

Two elementary school teachers will be chosen, along with a middle school and a high school teacher. The teachers will be honored on May 20 during the annual ÁùºÏ±¦µä Salute awards presentation which recognizes outstanding district employees.

The four teachers will proceed through an interview selection committee to determine one District Elementary and one District Secondary teacher of the year. The finalists will be submitted to move forward for the Texas Teacher of the Year program.

For the media: Due to safety precautions, the event will not be open to the public. Photos and videos of the surprise will be shared for use in a media release on April 14. For interview opportunities with the teachers, please contact Eduardo Villa or Patricia Fraga at 512-414-2414.
