ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD's Department of Communications and Community Engagement honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a community event.
What: ÁùºÏ±¦µä will kick off the holiday weekend with a community-focused celebration, featuring keynote speaker Olyvia Green, the first African-American teacher at Pease Elementary. Performances include Thelma "Grandma Wisdom" Williams, FLAVA Dance Company, Eastside Memorial Early College High School's Eastside Singers, Dobie Middle School Chorus and Roadrunner Band, Gus Garcia YMLA's drumline and ÁùºÏ±¦µä singer/songwriter SaulPaul, who will also serve as emcee. Light refreshments will be provided.
