The ϱ ISD Board of Trustees has appointed new principas for Andrews, Gullett, Joslin and Pillow elementary schools.
Andrews Elementary School
The board appointed Gabriela “Gabbie” Soto to serve as the principal of Andrews.
Soto most recently served as the administrative supervisor in the ϱ middle school office. She previously worked as assistant principal at Perez Elementary School, as well as at two elementary schools in San Elizario and Clint ISDs.
Soto has a bachelor’s degree in management and a master’s degree in education from Park University.
Gullett Elementary School
The board appointed Tisha Brown to serve as the principal of Gullett.
Brown most recently served as interim principal at Gullett for the current school year. She previously worked as principal of the ϱ Jewish Academy and as a teacher in both ϱ and Round Rock ISDs.
Brown has a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at ϱ, a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center and a master’s degree in education from the UT ϱ.
Joslin Elementary School
The Board appointed D. Patrick Aziz to serve as the principal of Joslin Elementary School.
Aziz most recently served as interim principal at Joslin. Prior to that he worked as assistant principal and a bilingual teacher at Zilker Elementary School and has been in ϱ ISD for more than 13 years.
Aziz has a bachelor’s degree in speech communication from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from UT ϱ.
Pillow Elementary School
The board appointed Yvette Cardenas to serve as the principal of Pillow.
Cardenas most recently served as interim principal at Pillow for the current school year and has worked at Pillow as assistant principal since 2015 . She has been with ϱ ISD for 10 years and has been an English Language Learner teacher.
Cardenas has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a master’s degree in educational administration from UT ϱ. She was a member of the ϱ Principal Pathway Academy during the 2016-17 school year.
