ÁùºÏ±¦µä Students to Shed Light on Solutions for Watershed Pollution in ÁùºÏ±¦µä

ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD elementary and middle school students will participate in a daylong hackathon to tackle watershed pollution in ÁùºÏ±¦µä. The event is hosted by the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Science team, in partnership with Jason Learning and the city of ÁùºÏ±¦µä Watershed Protection Department.

What: Mentors from ÁùºÏ±¦µä, JASON Learning and the city of ÁùºÏ±¦µä Watershed Protection Department will guide groups of students as they design practical, actionable solutions using the MIT App Inventor. Students will develop and use their knowledge of computer programming to design and build mobile applications that might generate social awareness about local watershed pollution, provide action steps to curb local watershed pollution and/or track local watershed pollution in ÁùºÏ±¦µä. Some students from surrounding districts will participate as well.

When: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9
