ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD is expecting record attendance at its third annual Central Texas Dyslexia Conference Oct. 19, which aims to bring awareness and provide resources to parents and educators to learn best practices for supporting students with dyslexia.
The conference, expected to host more than 1,200 individuals from across the region and state of Texas, will be held at the ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Performing Arts Center, from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In addition to dyslexia experts and speakers from across the country, there will also be a special guest appearance at the conference from Ameer Baraka who overcame a life of poverty, illiteracy and crime in New Orleans to become an accomplished actor, author and youth mentor.
