ÁùºÏ±¦µä Names Alan Lambert Director of Fine Arts

The ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Board of Trustees approved Alan Lambert as the new director of fine arts for the district, effective May 29.
 
Lambert will oversee the fine arts department, which includes art, music, band, choir, dance, guitar, orchestra, theater and visual arts, serving all schools in the district. 
 
He also will oversee ÁùºÏ±¦µä's Performing Arts Center, a 2008 bond-funded facility with a 1,200-seat auditorium, a 250-seat black box theater, a dance studio, multi-purpose room, kiln room and a recording studio.
  
Lambert has seven years as a fine arts administrator, eight years supervising and developing teachers and 10 years teaching fine arts for K-12.
 
Recent honors include being named as presenter in the Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque in 2016 and being appointed to the Texas Education Agency State Review Panel for Fine Arts Proclamation 2015.
 
Lambert most recently was director of fine arts at Albuquerque Public Schools, where he led the department with a budget of $15 million, 14 staff members and 300 teachers to support 85,000 students on 141 campuses. He has held the title of mariachi director at Molina High School, Metro Nashville Public Schools and Grand Prairie ISD.
 
Lambert is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of New Mexico, has a master's degree in music from New Mexico State University and a bachelor's degree in music from Texas Tech University.
