Media Advisory At a Theater Near You: Student Films to be Showcased at Alamo Drafthouse During SXSWedu

ÁùºÏ±¦µä hosts a special SXSWedu premiere of stories from students about how they are supported, challenged and encouraged to succeed.

What: Student films—representing 17 of ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s high schools—capture the richness and diversity of life in the district’s high schools. The films highlight the dedication of the teachers, coaches, families and community members who inspire students every day.

Following the film, there will be a panel discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Hema Mullur of KEYE TV. KLRU will also broadcast the films at a later date.

When: Noon–2 p.m. Thursday, March 9

Where: Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar, 1120 S. Lamar Blvd.

Background: The idea behind the project is to allow ÁùºÏ±¦µä students to tell stories about their lives in ÁùºÏ±¦µä and how they are changed every day by the opportunities their education provides them. It also gives students, as filmmakers, the opportunity to see their film on the big screen and participate in a panel discussion about their film.
