The community is invited to McBee Elementary School to celebrate a hand-painted 200-foot-long mural on school grounds. The mural is a joint project between local ÁùºÏ±¦µä artist Ethan Azarian and students from McBee.
What: The celebration will begin with an introduction of the artist in the library. Following brief comments about the project, there will be a tour of the mural. Refreshments will be provided.
When: 9 a.m. Monday, May 2
Where: McBee Elementary School library, 1101 W Braker Lane
This experience has provided a special opportunity for the student-artists and gave them a sense of ownership of the mural.
This public work of art will be shared with community members as they drive or walk past the school's campus.
The mural project was initiated by Mary Rudig, editor of the North ÁùºÏ±¦µä Community Newsletter, and is supported and sponsored by North ÁùºÏ±¦µä Creates, ÁùºÏ±¦µä Creative Alliance and individual donors through Amplify ÁùºÏ±¦µä. Principal Maggie De La Rosa, librarian Heather Stephens, art teacher Megan Zaner and the students of McBee Elementary also dedicated a lot of time on the project.
