Alumni invited to share stories
Blackshear Elementary School Fine Arts Academy in East ÁùºÏ±¦µä will open its doors to students, families, former alumni and the community to ‘Little EAST’ during the East ÁùºÏ±¦µä Studio Tour.
The event includes the unveiling of a storytelling chair sculpture designed by a local artist.
When: 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21
- 10:30 a.m. SWAN—Scaling Walls a Note at a Time—drum circle in the garden
- 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Shakespeare performance
- 1:45–2 p.m. Unveiling of Hatch Workshop’s chair sculpture
- 2–2:30 p.m. Story time with Carol Ramsey and Paul Normandin, local author/performers
What: As part of the E.A.S.T., Blackshear will have craft booths, student artwork displays, face painting, story time, performances and gardening. All alumni are invited to share stories about their experiences at Blackshear and to plan the unveiling of a time capsule from 1934.

Big Medium presents the 14th East ÁùºÏ±¦µä Studio Tour. EAST is a free, annual, self-guided art event occurring over two weekends in November, providing the public with an opportunity to meet the makers: the local artists and artisans who leave a lasting imprint on ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s vibrant, dynamic culture. Tour-goers are invited to discover new artistic talent, see working studios, learn about artists' tools, techniques, and inspirations and explore unique exhibition spaces and local businesses.
