ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD is holding a groundbreaking ceremony for a new construction technology building on the Crockett High School campus.
The exterior of the building will be completed to code, but students will get to practice their construction skills by finishing work on the interior.
What: Guest speakers will give an overview of the construction site and there will be a photo opportunity with gold shovels. A reception will follow.
When: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13
Where: Crockett High School, 5601 Manchaca Road, on the south end of the Manchaca parking lot
The approximately $2 million building is scheduled to be completed and ready for student use in April 2016. Local union contractors may occupy the site on nights and weekends for training and professional development.
Construction technology is part of ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s Career Technical Education program. As ÁùºÏ±¦µä continues to grow, its need for construction workers and managers continues to expand as well.
