Linder, Blanton elementary schools take first and second place in Greater ÁùºÏ±¦µä Hispanic Chamber of Commerce video contest
The 2014-15 Greater ÁùºÏ±¦µä Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Hispanic ÁùºÏ±¦µä Leadership class partnered with ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD schools to create short videos to raise awareness of landfill waste reduction.
Linder Elementary School took first place in the competition. The school's winning video will be shared on the city of ÁùºÏ±¦µä website, the city television channel and on the city mobile app.

Linder students who worked on the project were Jorge Angel Angeles, Bryan Arellano-Flores, Rodrigo Fermin-Verdines, Jamone Cleveland Grant, Eric James Medoza, Michael Ruben Murray, San Pi, Allan Steven Ramos-Perez, Meh Reh and Soe Reh.
Blanton Elementary School placed second in the competition; its video was shared with the school on Earth Day.

Blanton students who worked on the project included Fatima Cabellero, Aidan Costell, Yazmin Delgado, Miguel Dominguez, LeGrand "Trey" Henderson and Priscilla Loarca. First prize for the contest was an ELKAY EZH2O water bottle-refilling station. Second prize was a $150 H-E-B gift certificate.
The Greater ÁùºÏ±¦µä Hispanic Chamber of Commerce plans to hold the video contest again next year.
The contest will be open to submissions from elementary and middle schools in ÁùºÏ±¦µä that receive Title 1 funds.
