MEDIA ADVISORY: ÁùºÏ±¦µä to Grow Green Efforts at Sustainability Resource Fair Feb. 25

ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD’s  is hosting a Sustainability Resource Fair to help schools start or enhance green initiatives at their school. 

The fair will provide information and resources to campus green team representatives at each school and other ÁùºÏ±¦µä staff. ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s assist in implementing energy saving and other sustainable practices at their respective campuses.

What: The fair includes booths with information on sustainability programs and resources, as well as presentations on how ÁùºÏ±¦µä schools can help the city of ÁùºÏ±¦µä meet its goal of diverting 90 percent of . There will also be a hands-on workshop for attendees to make signs and label bins to help with sorting recycling, composting and landfill trash.

When: 6:30–8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25

Sign in and exhibit hall opens at 6:30 p.m. Presentations begin at 7 p.m., with workshop to follow. 


Where: ÁùºÏ±¦µä City Hall, 301 W. Second St.

This is a green event. Public transportation, carpooling, biking and walking is encouraged. Free parking is available in the City Hall garage with validation.

Background: The ESAC assists the district in being an example of environmental education, stewardship and sustainability. The ESAC serves as an advisory body to the superintendent, who is responsible for administrative decisions and for providing administrative and policy recommendations to the board for approval. .
