Applications Now Open for 2015-16 Tuition-based Pre-K

ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD is accepting applications for tuition-supported Pre-K for the 2015-16 school year beginning now through Feb. 20. Interested parents should apply at the participating campus of their choice.

Students can qualify  for Pre-K in two ways: the State-mandated Pre-K Program, which is free, and tuition-based Pre-K.

To be eligible for enrollment in the state-mandated Pre-K program, a child must be four years of age on or before Sept.1 of the current school year, live in the district, and must:

  • Be unable to speak and/or comprehend the English language; or
  • Be educationally disadvantaged (qualify for free/reduced lunch); or
  • Be homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11302; or
  • Be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the U.S.; or
  • Be the child of a member of the armed forces of the U.S. who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
  • Currently or ever have been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing under Family Code 262.201.

To be eligible to enroll in tuition-based Pre-K, a child must be four years old on or before Sept. 1 of the current school year and not qualify for either the Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) or the state mandated Pre-K program provided for qualifying students, as described above.

The annual tuition cost is $4,656 per student, payable annually, or by semester, or prorated to be paid monthly ($517.33 per month).
