The total purchase and construction costs, funded by the ÁùºÏ±¦µä 2008 Bond Program, totaled $30.45 million.

The school was named for Officer Jaime D. Padron, a U.S. Marine veteran, who served in both the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Police Department and the San Angelo Police Department. He died in April of 2012 while serving in the line of duty for the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Police Department, leaving behind two daughters. He was awarded the Law Enforcement Purple Heart with Valor by the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Police Department.
