AUSTIN, Texas—This weekend, ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD will hold an official dedication ceremony for the Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
What: A dedication ceremony, featuring remarks by Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Former State Rep. Wilhelmina Delco, Interim Superintendent Paul Cruz and ÁùºÏ±¦µä Trustee Cheryl Bradley
When: 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11
Where: Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy, 6401 N. Hampton Drive
Background: On April 28, the ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD Board of Trustees approved the name of Bertha Sadler Means Young Women's Leadership Academy for the renaming of Pearce Middle School. Beginning this school year, the school opened as a middle school for young women.
The Bertha Sadler Means Young Women’s Leadership Academy educates students in a cooperative learning environment that promotes scholarship, leadership, character education and community service leading toward a successful transition to the Early College High School to pursue success in college, career and life.
