District offers Lunch and Learn for media about ÁùºÏ±¦µä budget
AUSTIN, Texas—In preparation for ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD’s community budget meetings in April, the district is launching the first session of its Lunch and Learn series for the media with an introduction to ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s budget and the district’s annual process and timeline, including the recent publication of the and scheduled board action for the 2014-15 school year’s budget.
What: Nicole Conley, chief financial officer, and Leo Lopez, executive director of finance, will provide information about ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s preliminary budget and will guide media through the community budget presentation and the resources available to media to cover the district’s finances for the public.
When: Noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 2. Lunch will be provided, beginning at 11:45 a.m.
Where: Carruth Administration Center, Suite C150, 1111 W. Sixth St.
Background: ÁùºÏ±¦µä is inviting families and staff and community members to learn more about ÁùºÏ±¦µä's 2014-15 preliminary budget and the district’s strategic investment in priorities, projected shortfalls and long-range financial planning.
The meetings are:
- from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at Crockett High School, cafeteria, 5601 Manchaca Road and
- from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at McCallum High School, cafeteria, 5600 Sunshine Drive.
