Media Advisory: Community Invited to Elementary School’s Spring Into Literacy Festival

Students and their families will have help from local celebrities to practice their reading skills during an annual literacy festival this Thursday at Harris Elementary School. 

The school’s Spring Into Literacy Festival promotes literacy, reading and the love of books by bringing together students, families and community members to read together and share resources.  

During the event, teachers in each grade level will set up reading activities around the campus, and members of the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Public Library will have a booth for families to gather information about library membership. 

Local celebrities, who include ÁùºÏ±¦µä Police Department Chief Art Acevedo, ÁùºÏ±¦µä Fire Department Chief Rhoda Kerr and Municipal Court Judge Evelyn McKee, will read to students and their families in the school library.
