We are #六合宝典Proud of Liberal Arts and Science Academy student Sam Christian who was named as top 300 scholars in the 80th Regeneron Science Talent Search. The science and mathematics  competition is the nation's oldest and most prestigious for high school seniors.

Students must submit an original research project on an important scientific field, which is then judged by leading experts.

The goal is to inspire and engage the nation鈥檚 young scientists who are creating ideas that could solve society鈥檚 challenges.

鈥淲e are very excited for Sam to receive this recognition for his research,鈥 said LASA Principal Stacia Crescenzi. 鈥淪am is an exemplary student. He is the senior class president, Science Olympiad team member, and dedicated researcher. We鈥檝e always known Sam was an all-around amazing person, now everyone else will know it too.鈥

Christian was selected from 1,760 students who entered from 611 high schools in 45 states, Washington, DC, Puerto Rico, and 10 other countries. He was chosen for his project, 鈥淎 Possible Alignment Between Orbits of Visual Binary Stars and Their Planetary Systems.鈥

Each student will receive $2,000, and their school will also receive $2,000 per scholar to use toward STEM-related activities.

鈥淭he hope is that this encourages other students to have confidence that their personal interests can turn into viable research pursuits,鈥 Crescenzi said. 鈥淚 love how so many of our students are willing to take a risk and forge their own path. Sam's public success will hopefully inspire his classmates and future students to chase their dreams,鈥

On January 21st, Christian advanced as one of the top 40 finalists winning $25,000 dollars.
