ÁùºÏ±¦µä High School Graduates 480 Maroons

Nearly 500 Maroons crossed the stage today as ÁùºÏ±¦µä High School graduated its Class of 2019.

Superintendent Paul Cruz praised the students for their hard work and achievements. 

  • The Lady Maroons Softball Team had a historic 29-7 season, the first softball team to make it past the regional quarter finals since 2001. The team were Regional Semifinal champions, advancing them to the school's first ever regional final championship.
  • Jazz Ensemble placed first place overall at the University of Texas Jazz Competition

  • All three concert bands earned Sweepstakes Division I Ratings for all three ensembles at UIL concert and sight reading competition

Valedictorian Alexander McGahagin congratulated his classmates and talked about the importance of loving what you do.

"Today I would like to take the time to talk about love—a love for one’s work," he said. "Fundamentally, to suffer the slings and arrows life flings at us in pursuit of our passion is nothing short of love."

Principal Amy Taylor congratulated the students on their hard work, the scholarships they've received and their plans for their lives after high school.

"Students, today is your day," Taylor said. "You will always be a Maroon, and we know each of you will achieve greatness. Show the world who you are."
