McCallum High School honored about 400 students at its graduation ceremony this morning at the Frank Erwin Center.
Several speakers noted the school’s football success this year with an undefeated regular season.
Valedictorian Davis Roe congratulated the Class of 2018, while thanking all of those who had helped them throughout high school.
“Thank you to our teachers for your unwavering commitment to us,” said Roe. “It’s the people that make McCallum great.”
Salutatorian Nico Lueba Jones thanked her parents for getting her to this point and recognized McCallum for allowing students to find their voice.
“McCallum offered me the skills to become a creative, independent thinker. We are encouraged to stand up for what we believe in and we do not shy away from accomplishing our goals,” said Jones, who helped organize a walk for gun reform this year. “I hope you find strength in your new communities. Your voices deserve to be heard. They are lucky to have you.”
Congratulations to the McCallum High School Class of 2018! We’re #ϱProud of our #ϱGrads!
