Anderson High School honored about 530 seniors at its graduation ceremony this afternoon at the Frank Erwin Center.
Principal Sammi Harrison, who was also the principal for many of the students during their time at Murchison Middle School, recognized many students and teams for their accomplishments.
“You are at the end of a journey,” Harrison said. “You’ve been in a class of many firsts and lasts. You have certainly set the bar high for the classes that follow you.”
The Class of 2018 noted several accomplishments, including the football team advancing to state semifinals for Class 5A Division II for the first time in school history, as well as receiving the Gold National Scholastic Award in photography.
Salutatorian Amie Nguyen encouraged her classmates to move toward their future with passion.
“My advice—do it with passion or don’t do it at all,” Nguyen said. “Take your next steps into the world with passion, conviction and a strong sense of self.”
Congratulations to the Anderson High School Class of 2018! We’re #ϱProud of our #ϱGrads!
