Reagan Early College High School graduated 235 high school seniors today in a ceremony at the Frank Erwin Center.
This is the third year Reagan students have been able to earn college credit, including associate degrees, as part of the Early College High School program. Seniors earned 1,768 college hours this year.
Valedictorian Yazael Marquez thanked "my beautiful mother and my gorgeous grandmother" for their support.
Addressing his classmates, he said, "Our journey here has been tough for all of us."
Accomplishments for the Reagan ECHS Class of 2017 included:
- The boys basketball team tied for first place in the district.
- Mark Wilson was named the district’s Most Valuable Player.
- Esmeralda Macedo DePaz won the UIL state award for art sculpture.
