Golf is a solitary game by design—one player against the golf course.
Ann Richards School for Young Women Leaders freshman standout Kerrisa Limon has been playing the game since she was 6 years old, and right now, she is on a team of one.
But while she's the only Ann Richards student competing in the playoffs, she does have some ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD company.
"Practicing with the ÁùºÏ±¦µä High team has been very helpful," Kerrisa said. "I’ve made lots of friends on the team, so I won’t be alone out there."
At the high school level, that team atmosphere supports growth and competition, along with a path to the UIL postseason.
"Being the only golfer from my school competing in playoffs is difficult for me," Kerrisa said. "But I know that I will go out there and do the best that I can."
So far, Kerrisa's best has led her all the way to the regional playoffs. After placing fourth overall in district, she's headed to the regional round April 24.
"It would be amazing to have teammates," she said. "But I know that by doing these things I am opening the door for so many other girls who have an interest in playing golf."
