With an eye toward supporting at-risk students and families, Lanier High School officially opened its state-of-the-art Family Resource Center on Tuesday.
ÁùºÏ±¦µä Superintendent Paul Cruz, Trustee Ann Teich and other community leaders were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Family Resource Center is located on the rear side of Lanier, and is the result of a partnership between ÁùºÏ±¦µä and ÁùºÏ±¦µä Voices for Education and Youth.
A $2.5 million grant from the U. S. Dept. of Education was instrumental in bringing the project to life. This is the sixth FRC opened by ÁùºÏ±¦µä Voices in ÁùºÏ±¦µä since 2007, bringing wraparound supports to over 1,800 families per year.
