More than 400 members of the Anderson High School class of 2015 crossed the stage today at the Frank Erwin Center, signaling the end of their high school careers.
Principal Donna Houser detailed a long list of the students' accomplishments, including that the top 50 percent of the class has a GPA of 3.8 or higher.
"This groupd of students has achieved a great deal, but more than that, they're great people," Houser said.
She also praised the students' support of each other and others, highlighting their more than 1,000 hours of community service.
Other achievements include national publications such as The Washington Post and U.S. News and World Report naming Anderson .
SAT scores this year were higher than the state and national average, and students broke a school record by taking 1,149 AP tests and more than 545 IB exams in May.
In extracurricular achievements, the Anderson Robotics Team went to the World Championships after winning the Engineering Inspiration Award, the first team from Texas to do this in more than 25 years.
The Model United Nations Club won best overall delegation at the Central Texas Model UN Competition, and the UIL Academic Team took second place at district.
