ÁùºÏ±¦µä Names Quevette Terrell 2015 Teacher of the Year

Classified Staff, Principal, Librarian, Counselor and Assistant Principal of the Year as well as APIE Hall of Fame also named at ceremony.

On Tuesday evening, ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD, in collaboration with ÁùºÏ±¦µä Partners in Education, celebrated teachers and staff at Salute. 

The annual event recognizes some of the district's outstanding team members for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in schools. 

Teacher, Classified Staff, Principal, Librarian, Counselor and Assistant Principal of the Year were announced at the ceremony as well as the APIE Hall of Fame award winner.

Twenty-two newly certified or renewed teachers who have completed the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards were recognized. ÁùºÏ±¦µä employs more National Board Certified Teachers than any other Texas district, with 242 National Board Certified Teachers for the 2014-15 school year.

APIE Hall of Fame

John Blazier, for whom Blazier Elementary School is named, was recognized in the APIE Hall of Fame.

As ÁùºÏ±¦µä’s Teacher of the Year, Terrell will represent ÁùºÏ±¦µä for the compeition. If chosen to represent the region, she could be eligible for Texas Teacher of the Year, who then represents the state in National Teacher of the Year.
