The Ann Richards cross country team was the district runner-up, and standout All State Junior Gema Sanchez placed 14th at the UIL 5A State Championship.
ÁùºÏ±¦µä High senior and student assistant coach Archer Hadley raised $83,000 to install automatic entry buttons on every entrance and exit to the school. Archer, who has cerebral palsy, also raised money to widen and refurbish wheelchair ramps.
The Bowie football team was named the Dave Campbell Texas Football Army Strong Team of the Week for beating Westlake 19-13. It was the second year in a row that Bowie bested the Chaps. Bowie also won a bi-district championship by beating Cedar Ridge.

Crockett senior Justin Miller set a career and districtwide rushing record with 189 yards in the game against Bastrop.
Eastside Memorial wrestler Jonathan Slade finished in the top 10 as a heavyweight in the state wrestling tournament. He was also a track and field regional qualifier in shot put and was recognized as the Prairie View Interscholastic League Coaches Association's Athlete of the Year. He currently plays football for Wayland Baptist University.
LBJ's football team reached the quarterfinals of the Texas state playoffs after beating Vista Ridge, Alamo Heights and Victoria West. Their emotional playoff run lead by QB Avery Jackson resulted in an impressive 11-3 record.
The Reagan football team made the playoffs for the first time since 2003. Until the arrival of the current staff, the Raiders were 9-70. The team won four district games in a new, tougher district and finished as the third-ranked ÁùºÏ±¦µä team in the district.
