ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD and the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Learning Academy are partnering to offer free GED classes to the community. Classes will be held at Garza High School, 1600 Chicon St., Portable 405.
The program will offer both day and night classes to students, with day classes taking place Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and night classes offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m.
Registration for day classes takes place Friday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to noon, while registration for night classes will be Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. To register for the program, students will need to have a valid, government-issued photo I.D.; school identification cards will not be accepted. All 17-year-old students will also need to have their high school withdrawal form and 16-year-old students will need both their withdrawal form and court order. Registration lasts three hours and students are encouraged to arrive to classes 15 minutes early to secure a seat. No late entry or early exit will be permitted.
