Students from the Travis High School Hospitality program received a welcome surprise last Friday when the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Hotel and Lodging Association made a generous donation to help grow the program.
Mayor Lee Leffingwell, a proud Travis High School alumni, and Bob Landers, CEO and President of the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Convention and Visitor's Bureau, were both on hand to recognize the program and present the award to Travis High School Principal Ty Davidson and hospitality instructor Jayma Vaughan.
The donation was a part of the CVB's annual hospitality luncheon where Travis hospitality students created unique recipes that represented the amazing spirit of ÁùºÏ±¦µä and had their desserts prepared by the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Convention Center's chefs and served to over 700 diners.
Students in the program participate in business internships around the city, including Hyatt ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Wyndham ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Holiday Inn Lady Bird Lake, Four Seasons ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Radisson, and the ÁùºÏ±¦µä Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
