This week ÁùºÏ±¦µä is joining other districts across the country in celebrating National School Social Workers Week. Students, teachers and administrators are encouraged to thank a school social worker for their contribution to the campus community.
ÁùºÏ±¦µä's social workers are a hardworking and dedicated team of mental health professionals and social service providers who work tirelessly with a broad spectrum of students to help improve their lives at school and at home. The district's social workers work closely with ÁùºÏ±¦µä's migrant population, homeless students, at-risk students, teen parents and other groups. They serve as special education counselors and behavior specialists and help coordinate family resource centers and disciplinary alternative education programs. Their scope of work is diverse and far reaching and the impact the have on our students is immeasurable.
The district's social workers are an integral part of our district's team, and this week provides our school community with the opportunity to take time to recognize their significant contributions. Take time to thank your school social worker, this week and every week.
