Pease ES Students Share Valentine's with Community

Students at Pease Elementary School will be sharing the love this Valentine's Day. Inspired by the book, "One Zillion Valentines" by Frank Modell, about a little boy who sets out to make one zillion Valentines and put them on people’s doorsteps on Valentine’s Day, the students will be hand-delivering Valentine's Day cards to businesses in the community Feb. 14.

The students are handcrafting the Valentine's cards and will deliver them to businesses, including Whole Foods and ÁùºÏ±¦µä Community College. Each student made a Valentine with his/her first name and grade level included. They also included a Pease Elementary return address label on the back, in the hopes that someone will write them back.

Students and staff members hope the Valentine's will spread joy throughout the community and serve as a reminder that Pease Elementary is a No Place for Hate campus.

The No Place for Hate initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. It also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
