Solar America Cities Lesson Writing Contest for Teachers

Attention ÁùºÏ±¦µä teachers: create a solar science lesson and you could get funded!

ÁùºÏ±¦µä Energy has been awarded a grant from the Department of Energy to host a solar lesson writing contest for teachers. The contest is an opportunity to create lessons that will instill knowledge, skills and resources to assist and motivate students in the development of solar as a renewable resource. Online applications are being accepted through March 31. Thirteen $1,000 prizes will be awarded to contestants in grades K-12 and winners will be announced via e-mail by April 20. Teachers from all content areas are encouraged to apply. Please note: lessons must follow standard 5E lesson format found on the Texas Solar Energy Society website.

The grant is being implemented in partnership with ÁùºÏ±¦µä Energy and the Texas Solar Energy Society (TXSES). Districts partipating in the contest include Pflugerville, Eanes, Manor, ÁùºÏ±¦µä, Lake Travis and Del Valle.
