Join ÁùºÏ±¦µä in Recognizing Teaching Excellence at Salute

Salute: A Tribute to Teaching and Teaching Excellence throughout the district, will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. May 23 at the Joe R. and Theresa Lozano Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Dr.  

The annual event, co-hosted by ÁùºÏ±¦µä and ÁùºÏ±¦µä Partners in Education honors outstanding educators for their continued dedication to student excellence and achievement in our schools and showcases the remarkable work we achieve together on our campuses. The event will include performances by students, a VIP Reception, an Honoree Reception and much more. The ÁùºÏ±¦µä Teacher of the Year, who will serve as the District's nominee for the Texas Teacher of the Year Program, will be named at Salute.   

This year, ÁùºÏ±¦µä also will celebrate a new platform for honoring teaching excellence. Honorees at this event will be ÁùºÏ±¦µä Teachers of the Year, National Board Certified Teachers, Teachers of Promise and Principal and Classified Staff of the Year!

Currently, we are seeking nominations for the following categories:  

  • Teacher of Promise - recognizes our highly successful novice teachers.  
  • Classified Staff of the Year - recognizes a staff member who has gone beyond his/her regularly assigned job duties to promote the development and/or progress of ÁùºÏ±¦µä's mission.  
  • Principal of the Year - recognizes a principal who has gone above and beyond to create an exemplary environment for learning whereby teachers can realize their full potential and students are learning and growing into truly productive citizens.
