The Texas Foreign Language Association (TFLA) has named Ms. Kelly Long, the 2011 TFLA Chinese Teacher of the Year. Ms. Long is the Chinese teacher at Anderson High School. She is being recognized for her commitment to continually providing learning opportunities for her students both in and out of the classroom, as well as for her overall contributions to the Chinese program at ÁùºÏ±¦µä.
Her work includes assisting in the development of the district's CBE (credit by exam) for Chinese I and II. Ms. Long also has been granted acceptance into the prestigious Hanban Network of Confucius Classrooms.
As part of this recognition, Ms. Long participated in an interview conducted by the TFLA committee during their fall conference in October as a candidate for the TFLA Top Teacher of the Year Award.
TFLA is a non-profit organization at the state level whose mission is to advance the study of modern and classical languages at all levels of instruction. Congratulations to Ms. Long!
