Bowie High School Student Council Receives Keep ÁùºÏ±¦µä Beautiful Award

Bowie High School Student Council won the Keep ÁùºÏ±¦µä Beautiful 2011 Freescale Youth Achievement Award for their dedication to landscaping and maintaining the gardens around Bowie High School.

This is not your typical student council. In addition to organizing and running school events, these students meet every Thursday after school to put in a few hours of work to keep the campus looking beautiful. The Bowie Student Council also picks up trash around campus throughout the year to keep the school clean.

Their work has been noted in the Oak Hill Gazette and a tree in one of their gardens was a finalist for this year’s Tree of the Year award.

Bowie Student Council members received this recognition at the 26th Annual Keep ÁùºÏ±¦µä Beautiful Awards Luncheon, which recognized the efforts made by individuals and groups to enhance and protect ÁùºÏ±¦µä's environment.

By beautifying their school campus, these students are creating an environment for everyone to appreciate.

Congratulations to the Bowie Bulldogs for this great award!
