NoVo Foundation Awards ÁùºÏ±¦µä $750,000 Grant

The NoVo Foundation of New York has awarded a $750,000 grant to ÁùºÏ±¦µä ISD to implement a district-wide social and emotional learning program over three years.

ÁùºÏ±¦µä is part of the Collaborating Districts Initiative with NoVo and the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), along with Anchorage, Alaska and Cleveland, Ohio school districts. The initiative will expand next year to eight of the nation's 200 largest school districts.
 
ÁùºÏ±¦µä Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) staff returned recently from a cross-district meeting in Anchorage, Alaska. Attendees observed SEL practices in Anchorage schools and met with representatives from Anchorage and Cleveland to share ideas about improving school climate and student learning through social and emotional learning.

ÁùºÏ±¦µä representatives presented their work writing curriculum standards, implementing curriculum resources in the ÁùºÏ±¦µä and Crockett vertical teams, and using the Child Study Team system to track interventions for students. Stay tuned for more updates about this important ÁùºÏ±¦µä initiative!
